Why This Change? – Supreme Court Ruling
Based on the judgment dated 30.07.2025 in SLP (C) No. 20072/201 by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India (Dr. Dhruvi Yadav), the Chandigarh Administration has been directed to implement 27% OBC reservation in all educational institutions, including medical colleges.
Due to this, the MBBS counselling process for Round 1 at GMCH has been put on hold temporarily, pending permission and implementation steps.
Important Instructions for Applicants
For OBC (NCL) and PwD Candidates:
- Online application forms are available from 19 August 2025.
- Candidates who already applied under the General category can now change their category to OBC (NCL) or OBC (NCL) PwD by uploading valid supporting documents.
BHMS Counselling:
- The BHMS admission process is also on hold until further notice.
BDS Counselling:
- The BDS counselling process will continue as per the existing schedule without any changes.
