Telangana MBBS Admission Under NRI Quota—Simple Guide

If you are an NRI student with dreams about becoming a doctor in India, then Telangana is the place you should look toward. Its admission is not complicated; you just have to keep in mind a few important things before applying.

Application: Who is Eligible? To get a seat under the NRI quota, either you or your parents should be NRIs. Students holding OCI or PIO status can also apply. The candidate or their parents should hold the status of NRI.

How Does It Work?

After your NEET results, you need to register for NRI quota counseling in Telangana. You will fill in the preferences according to the colleges you like. Seats are given based on your NEET score, your documents, and the options you choose. There are about 700 NRI seats in private medical colleges, and their tuition fees are much higher compared to the regular seats, which come out at somewhere around 23–30 lakh per year, depending on the college.     • The AIU Equivalency certificate confirms that your foreign qualification is equivalent to the Indian education system for eligibility purposes
    • . Most medical colleges in India need marks in terms of percentages for evaluation. The conversion certificate should be issued either by the institution that awarded your foreign qualification or a recognized authority responsible for such conversions.
    • Other Miscellaneous Documents: This category may vary depending on the college or state requirements. Medical Fitness Certificate: A certificate by a registered medical practitioner regarding your fitness to pursue medical education. If you have completed your previous education from any other board/university within India, you might be required to provide a migration certificate.
    • If you are from a reservation group in medical admissions, such as SC/ST/OBC, then you must provide a relevant category certificate. Medical Fitness Certificate: A certificate by a registered medical practitioner regarding your fitness to pursue medical education. Migration Certificate: In case of migration, if one has pursued their previous education from some other board/university within India, then a migration certificate might be required. Herein, we have provided the expected cut-off, eligibility criteria, and other essential details: Minimum NEET-UG Marks: Minimum Marks: Every candidate who is aiming to seek admission through the NRI Quota in Telangana should prepare to achieve a minimum score of at least 250-300 marks in NEET-UG. However, this cut-off can vary each year depending on the overall performance of candidates and the number of available seats.
