- NRI Status: At least one parent of the candidate should be an NRI and should ordinarily be residing abroad as an NRI. Alternatively, a first-degree relative (real brother/sister) or nearest relative (as detailed below) who is an NRI can sponsor the candidate.
- Nearest Relative as Guardian:
- The candidate may be considered for admission if taken as a ward by a nearest relative, provided the guardian has bona fide treated the candidate as a ward. The eligible relatives include
- Real uncle and aunt; that is, real brother and sister of the father.
- Maternal uncle and aunt (true sibling of mother). Paternal grandparents:
- father and mother of father. Maternal grandparents: father and mother of mother.
- Maternal grandparents: father and mother of mother
- First-degree mother’s brother and sister – Biological mother’s brother and sister are first-degree relatives. Father’s parents include father and mother of father.
- The candidate may be considered for admission if taken as a ward by a nearest relative, provided the guardian has bona fide treated the candidate as a ward. The eligible relatives include
- Academic Qualifications:
- Completion of 10+2 or equivalent education with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English.
- Minimum aggregate marks of 50% in the qualifying exam.
- Qualification in the NEET-UG exam.
