What Has JKBOPEE Released?

JKBOPEE has published the Provisional Selection List of candidates of UT of J&K/Ladakh for MBBS/BDS Courses 2026 after Round 1 of online counselling.

The provisional allotments cover seats in government colleges and private institutions of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. The detailed selection list is provided through an annexure available on the official JKBOPEE website.

Candidates should search the annexure carefully and confirm whether they have been allotted a seat.

The published list contains candidate details along with the allotted course and institution. For example, the list includes MBBS allotments at Government Medical College, Srinagar and Government Medical College, Jammu.

The Objection Deadline Has Already Passed

Candidates who wanted to challenge their provisional selection position were required to submit their representations by August 25, 2026, at 5:00 PM.

JKBOPEE allowed representations along with documentary evidence in support of the candidate’s claim. If a genuine representation was received, the Board stated that a separate notification could be issued for a revised selection list.

Since the deadline has passed, candidates who have received an allotment should now focus on the reporting and admission requirements.

If no further notification regarding a revised selection list is issued, the provisional list in Annexure A will be treated as final.

When Does J&K NEET UG 2026 Round 1 Reporting Start?

Physical reporting at the allotted college or institution starts on:

August 27, 2026, from 11:30 AM

The final deadline is:

August 31, 2026, up to 4:30 PM

Provisionally selected candidates are required to report to their assigned colleges or institutions within this period with their relevant documents in original.

Candidates should not wait for the last day to complete admission formalities.

JKBOPEE has specifically advised candidates to complete the admission process within the prescribed deadline, and colleges have been directed to keep their admission counters open even on holidays or off days during the reporting window.

Download Your Provisional Allotment Letter

If you have been selected, do not rely only on the published selection list.

JKBOPEE has advised provisionally selected candidates to generate their Provisional Allotment Letter through the JKBOPEE portal using their own login credentials.

The allotment letter should be checked carefully before you travel to the college.

Verify:

  • Your name
  • NEET details
  • Allotted course
  • Allotted college
  • Category
  • Admission details
  • Any college-specific instructions

Documents Required for Admission

Candidates should prepare their original documents well before reporting.

According to the JKBOPEE notification, the required documents include:

  • Date of Birth Certificate/Matriculation certificate
  • Class 12 marks card
  • Domicile certificate
  • Valid category certificate, if applicable
  • Valid Poor & Backward Category certificate, where applicable
  • NEET UG 2026 score card
  • Any other document required by the concerned college authorities

Candidates should carry the original documents, as the admission process includes verification at the concerned institution.

Special Document Requirement for Ladakh Candidates

There is one additional requirement that Ladakh candidates should not miss.

Candidates belonging to the UT of Ladakh are required to submit the prescribed Compulsory Service Bond as part of the admission documentation.

If you are a Ladakh candidate with a Round 1 allotment, arrange this document before reporting rather than leaving it until the last moment.

Category Certificates Must Be Valid

Candidates receiving admission through a reserved category need to pay particular attention to their category certificates.

JKBOPEE has stated that the valid category certificate, wherever applicable, should have been issued prior to August 10, 2026, which was the last date of online registration.

The Board has also instructed colleges to verify the authenticity and prescribed format of category certificates before granting admission.

A candidate should therefore not assume that simply having a certificate is enough. The certificate must satisfy the applicable requirements.

What Happens If You Do Not Join the Allotted College?

Candidates who receive a Round 1 seat need to take the reporting deadline seriously.

The admission process must be completed by August 31, 2026, at 4:30 PM.

The JKBOPEE notification makes it clear that candidates should complete admission within the stipulated period. Colleges are also required to update any seat shortfall on the portal by August 31 at 5:00 PM.

Candidates should therefore avoid waiting until the final afternoon, especially if travel to the allotted institution is involved.

What Does the Provisional Selection List Mean?

Being listed in the Round 1 provisional selection list means that JKBOPEE has provisionally allotted you a seat based on the first-round counselling process.

However, the admission remains provisional until the required documents and eligibility conditions are verified.

JKBOPEE has stated that admission can be cancelled if information or documents furnished by a candidate are subsequently found to be false or fabricated.

This is why candidates should make sure that every document submitted during admission is genuine and valid.

Can You Wait Until the Last Day to Report?

Technically, the reporting window remains open until August 31 at 4:30 PM, but waiting until the final day is not a good idea.

Travel delays, document issues, college verification and payment or admission formalities can all take time.

JKBOPEE itself has advised candidates to avoid waiting for the last day because delays could create difficulties in completing admission within the deadline.

If you have already received your allotment, start preparing now.

What About Round 2?

Candidates should also understand the implications of their Round 1 allotment before making decisions for the next round.

The JKBOPEE notification states that candidates cannot select the same allotted institution and discipline again in Round 2, including situations involving joining, non-joining or cancellation of the Round 1 allotment.

Therefore, candidates should carefully consider their current allotment and understand the applicable Round 2 rules before taking any action.
